We’re a group of friends who met through a local homeowners association in suburban Chicago, and our shared passion for home improvement led us to create Home Improvement House in 2022. What started as a casual conversation about our own frustrating experiences with costly repair projects eventually turned into a mission to help other homeowners make informed decisions about their own homes. We were tired of feeling blindsided by contractor quotes that seemed to magically increase once the work began, and we knew we weren’t alone. Our goal is to provide a platform where homeowners can find reliable information, connect with others who have gone through similar experiences, and make the most of their hard-earned money.
As homeowners ourselves, we’ve been in the trenches, dealing with leaky faucets, creaky floors, and outdated electrical systems. We’ve learned that even the most seemingly straightforward projects can quickly become expensive and complicated.
